Areas of Expertise
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used during sessions and is a form of psychotherapy that is goal-oriented. CBT is designed to help individuals change their perspectives, patterns of thinking and behaviors. CBT allows individuals to gain a deeper understanding of who they are and the functions of their behaviors.
Cognitive Restructing
Cognitive Restructuring is a technique used to help individuals change their thinking patterns and internal beliefs. Individuals can identify thoughts and behaviors that evoke distress and then challenge and replace them with more accurate and positive thoughts as well as actions to help reduce overall negativity.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic Therapy is a key piece of truly learning about oneself. Psychodynamic Therapy explores childhood thoughts and experiences to help uncover patterns of thoughts and behaviors that often stem from one's past. These discoveries help individuals to make sense of their present-day to day and become more forgiving of themselves.
Nutrition Therapy
Nutrition Therapy consists of one-on-one sessions with Michelle Wright, RD. In these sessions, Michelle provides an open dialogue for individuals to review their eating patterns, goals, and struggles. Michelle helps clients become in tune with their hunger cues and nourish themselves comfortably and safely.
Our Approach
At Authentic You, we value every client and believe they deserve to be heard. As a team, we do not think anyone's struggles define them, but instead, make them stronger and help promote self-growth.
Every component of Authentic You was designed with our clients in mind. It is a calm, safe space where individuals can work on becoming the best version of themselves. More specifically, the space allows clients to have individual therapy sessions, family sessions, and sessions with a dietitian. The nutrition program allows clients to snack during therapy, prepare meals, practice intuitive eating, and have one-on-one or family sessions with the dietitian. Lastly, clients utilizing therapy and the nutrition program can have joint sessions with both providers, allowing the providers to have a truly comprehensive approach.
